The wonder that lurks beneath the surface..

So many people know of what we call the 'aqua hobby'.  However, it is rare to find someone who appreciates the richness and beauty of the many colours, shapes and sizes of the living things we have grown so accustomed to.  Whether it be freshwater or saltwater, creating the underwater habitat remains a fun and engaging experience.

Born April 2006…

Posted by fishhood on May 31, 2006

My fondness for the eco-world began in September 2005 after having seen the other fishhood members’ tanks. I began in melbourne with a standard 18inch tank keeping mainly tetras and 2 angels running an eheim aquaball, hagen heater & life-glo 2 bulb.

Relocating to Canberra in March 2006, i began to develop an affinity for aquascaped planted nano tanks – largely inspired by Takashi Amano & Oliver Knott.

Here i will take you on my journey of my nano freshwater planted tank…
